About Roadrunner Comfort

Roadrunner Comfort is a product of Nangeroni Design LLC, a registered New Mexico and Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque business. ND is a partnership of Nancy Nangeroni (on left) and Gordene MacKenzie. You can learn more about Nangeroni Design at design.nangeroni.net.

Roadrunner Comfort meets the highest quality standards for performance, reliability, and longevity. Founder and principal designer Nancy Nangeroni is an MIT-degreed engineer who has been designing electronic products (some hugely successful) for over 40 years.

Working with Nancy & Gordene are:

Will Pierce, a self-described ‘coder’ formerly with AOL, Facebook and Comcast, and founding member of the Evaporative Cooler Coalition (ECC), Will is the author of the Evaporative Cooler Forecaster app, and passionate researcher and developer of all things evaporative cooler related.

David Perkowski, Chief Technology Officer for Soomo Learning since 2005 and founding member of the ECC, David brings deep programming knowledge and experience to our efforts. He is working on bringing IoT compatibility and much more to the Roadrunner Comfort.

Every working swamp cooler that is discarded for a more complicated, less efficient system is another small step in a tragic direction.

Our product is produced in small batches, carefully hand-assembled, tested and packaged. We care about your experience with our product and will personally provide you with the very best possible service.

Our purpose is to provide swamp cooler users with more reason to keep their evaporative cooler, rather than switching to something less environmentally friendly. We care about this earth and all living things and want to help move us all towards a more sustainable future. Evaporative cooling is an ancient and efficient technology that is more efficient than any other cooling method.

Producing cooling systems of any type produces waste by-products at virtually every stage of material processing. These industrial wastes often contain toxins. If we extend the lifetime of a cooler, we avoid the by-production of toxins needed to replace it.

Every working swamp cooler that is discarded for a more complicated, less efficient system is another small step in a tragic direction.

Furthermore, as many happy owners know, a well -installed and -operated swamp cooler provides, in dry hot weather, pleasingly moistened air.

How we got here

Nancy Nangeroni was struck by the chilly drafts from her nearby swamp cooler, its constant turning on and off, and thought, “there’s gotta be a better way.” With generous help from good people in Los Ranchos, New Mexico Tech and more, she began to think, “What better purpose for my engineering experience! Every saved swamp cooler avoids all the toxins that would be released in replacing it.” She built her first prototype with a simple Bluetooth interface and iPhone program. Now she’s refined a design she’s proud to offer for your enjoyment for many years to come. Enjoy the cool, refreshing air of a swamp cooler without sacrificing comfort. Say goodbye to rollercoaster temps and hello to Continuous Comfort™ all summer long. And save a little piece of the planet at the same time.

Her state-of-the-art electronic Constantemp™ thermostat is a forerunner in a new generation of indoor climate control using the most efficient cooling devices on the planet.
